TIRAMISÙ COMPETITION FINAL

following the original
Italian tiramisu recipe

Open to: winners of the 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Selections

The winner of the Final will fly to Italy to attend the competition in Treviso!

WHAT IS IT AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Tiramisù World Cup – Canada Selections is a tiramisù competition that follows the rules of the Tiramisù World Cup held annually in Treviso, Italy. To participate you must be at least 18 years old and must not be a professional (chef, pastry chef, …) in the food sector.

It is an official competition in which competitors prepare their best tiramisù following the Italian original recipe (using ladyfingers, coffee, mascarpone cheese, pasteurized egg yolk, white sugar, cocoa powder). Ingredients are provided by the organizer, while kitchen tools will be brought by the competitors.

Purchasing a ticket allows you to choose whether to attend the Selections in College St., Toronto, at 3 or 5 p.m. Each round of competition includes 10 competitors: whoever gets the highest score wins.

The winners of the Selections (one for each competition round) will have direct access to the Semifinals in Italy, which will be held in the city of Treviso, homeland of tiramisù, from 11 to 13 October 2024.
Accommodation will be provided by the organizer, while travel will be paid for by the participants.

The 2 winners of the Selections will also face each other 7 p.m. in an additional challenge called COUNTRY FINAL.
The winner of this Country Final will not only have access to the Semifinals in Treviso, but will also win the entire trip to Italy (flight + accommodation) during the days of the Tiramisù World Cup in October.

At 9 p.m. the Country Final will be followed by the official awards ceremony to complete the day.

HOW CAN I JOIN?

➪ Click on the button below and purchase your ticket, choosing whether to attend the 3 p.m. or 5 p.m. Selections.

Remember that the competition will follow the Original Recipe. Every competitor will have 40 minutes to prepare the tiramisù. The amount of ingredients provided is not the correct amount for making tiramisù. It will be up to the competitor to choose how much to use. We recommend bringing a food scale.

📖 Please read the Tiramisù World Cup rules, but just the Original Recipe ones: the judging criteria and rules are the same! Please note that ingredient brands refer to the Italian competition, and will change for the Canada Selections.

⏰ We ask competitors to show up on the day of the competition about 20 minutes before the scheduled time, bringing all their kitchen tools with them (just like in the Tiramisù World Cup).
Please read the rules carefully, as some tools are not allowed (e.g.: stand mixers ore food processors, while you can use electric whisks).
The ingredients for the original recipe will be provided by the event organizers. No variations in ingredients are allowed. Decorations are only allowed within the plate on which the tiramisù will be presented, and only if made with the competition ingredients.

Important!

When registering, the competitor declares that he/she is of legal age at the time of registration and is not a professional in the gastronomy sector.

Friends, relatives and family of the competitors will have free access to the venue.

Competitors are responsible for all the kitchen tools they will need to prepare the dessert, except for the plate.

Participation includes the following:

– work table and a power socket;

– a common area for washing the dishes if necessary;

– the six ingredients used in the original recipe (ladyfingers, mascarpone cheese, coffee, white sugar, cocoa powder, pasteurized egg yolk);

– plates for presenting the dessert to the judges;

– chef hat and apron.
